Version 0.1.4
October 18, 2026
This release makes Pop Focus easier to open, clearer about problems, and friendlier to everything on your calendar, not only meetings.
Easier to open
- Starting Pop Focus again, from the Start menu or by double-clicking it, now opens Settings instead of doing nothing.
Clearer wording and look
- Pop Focus now talks about the things on your calendar: meetings, events, tasks and reminders.
- The arrow on a card that has a link is now an open-link arrow, so it no longer looks like a play button.
Clearer when something goes wrong
- If Settings cannot start, it now shows a message with the reason.
- Pop Focus writes a crash report you can email to hello@lauden.dev if it ever stops unexpectedly. Reports hide email addresses and web addresses.
Version 0.1.3
October 18, 2026
This release lets you shape how reminders look, move and sound, and shows them on every monitor.
Make the bubbles yours
- Pick the size, shape (card, pill, ellipse or hexagon) and color.
- Show from 1 to 30 bubbles per reminder, and choose how long they stay: 5, 10, 20, 25, 30 or 60 seconds.
- Adjust the opacity. New installs start at 70%.
- A live preview in Settings shows exactly what you are choosing.
Choose how they move
- Eight travel paths: classic bounce, rise, fall, left to right, right to left, wave, zigzag and around the edge.
- Set the speed from a quarter to three times normal. Every path moves at the same real speed, so changing the path does not change the pace.
Sounds, if you want them
- Play a chime, bell or drop when a reminder appears, or use your own file (WAV, OGG or MP3, up to 5 MB).
- Choose the exact part of your file that plays. A waveform editor shows the selection and a moving highlight while it plays.
- Add an optional pop sound when you dismiss a bubble: pop, click, bloop or your own file.
- One volume control for both. Sounds play as soon as you pick them, and both are off until you turn them on.
Every monitor
- Bubbles now spread across all of your displays on Windows, macOS, and Linux desktops with layer-shell support such as KDE Plasma. GNOME shows them on your main display for now.
Reminders and small touches
- Alert times from 1 minute up to 24 hours before a meeting, with quick presets for 60, 30, 15, 10, 5 and 1 minutes.
- Show a test reminder at the bottom of Settings previews your reminder with your current choices.
- The tray and menu bar now show whether this copy is licensed: a check mark when it is, a cross when it is not.
Upgrading
Quit Pop Focus before installing the new version, or log out and back in afterwards, so the new copy is the one that runs. Your settings and license carry over. On Linux the package now also requires the standard ALSA sound library, which your package manager installs for you.
